GGH Management (GGH) is an investment holding company focused globally on a number of diverse business areas—including consumer/retail, luxury/entertainment, e-commerce, financial services/fintech, TMT/artificial intelligence, healthcare/life sciences/biotechnology, infrastructure/real estate, supply chain/logistics/transportation, industrials/manufacturing, energy/natural resources/commodities, oil and gas/mining and metals, and the environment/alternative energy/clean technology/impact.

We act as principal investors to invest proprietary capital in both illiquid and liquid markets. We aim to secure substantial ownership positions (either by ourselves or as part of an investor consortium) and to be active investors creating significant value in businesses.

Samrat Ganguly
Chairman

Samrat Ganguly is Chairman of GGH and an advisor to several investment firms. Mr. Ganguly is also a Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Velos Partners, a global technology investment firm, as well as a Co-Founder & Managing Partner of V Partners, an alternative investment firm.

Mr. Ganguly has over 30 years of investment and related advisory (financial/legal) and domain area experience. He has been involved in all stages of the investment life cycle in North America, Europe, Africa and the Asia Pacific. He has run various fund management firms/platforms and has served on/advised multiple Boards of Directors in North America, Europe and Asia. In addition, he has an extensive network across Indonesia/South East Asia, China/Greater China and India—developed through 20 plus years of operating in Asia.

Among the several alternative investment firms Mr. Ganguly has worked with in the past, he was the Head of Asia Private Equity for Global Principal Strategies (GPS), a multi-billion dollar, multi-strategy, proprietary, principal investment arm of Lehman Brothers. And later on, he was CEO & Managing Partner of SREI Venture Capital Limited (SVCL), which was the fund management arm of SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited—which, at the time, was a publicly-listed infrastructure finance company, which had operated in India and other emerging markets for over 20 years.

Mr. Ganguly was also previously a Managing Partner at Capital Square Partners, a private equity investment firm investing across TMT, healthcare, and consumer/business services sectors in Southeast Asia and India. And he was a Principal at Global Environment Fund (GEF Management Corporation (“GEF”)), a global alternative asset manager that was dedicated to the energy, natural resources, infrastructure, environment, and technology sectors—with an impact focus.

Prior to joining GEF, Mr. Ganguly was with Latham & Watkins, a top-tier global law firm, where he handled Asian, European, US and cross-border private equity, mezzanine and distressed debt/special situations transactions for major investment firms, as well as general corporate/antitrust representation of private equity-backed companies in various sectors, including M&A, IPOs, equity/debt placements and other capital markets transactions.

Investment Experience:

(a)    Investment Strategies – Both private and public markets, as well as investments across the capital structure, Real asset, Venture capital, Growth capital (equity/structured debt), PIPE, Mezzanine, Fixed income/credit, Distressed debt/special situations, LBO/buyout transactions, and Impact investments.

(b)   Key Sectors – TMT/artificial intelligence; Healthcare, Life sciences/biotechnology, Infrastructure/real estate, Energy/natural resources/commodities; Oil and gas/mining and metals; the Environment/alternative energy/clean technology/impact; Consumer/retail; Luxury/entertainment; Industrials/manufacturing; Logistics/supply chain/transportation; and Financial Services/fintech.

Mr. Ganguly also has experience working in the areas of international trade and investment, public health, the environment, and international security while at the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the UN Security Council Secretariat. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Eswatini, serving as a ministry officer with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Energy. Before the Peace Corps, he worked in biomedical research at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (LIJ Hospital).

Mr. Ganguly is a Kauffman Fellow, selected to join “a lifelong learning community for people who are changing the face of venture capital.” In addition to his MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, he received a JD from the Columbia University School of Law and was awarded a BS (double major in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and Economics) from Yale University.
